Assignment Examples
THE STOCK: HOKU Hoku Scientific Inc.
POSITION ESTABLISHED DATE: May 1, 2007
ASSIGNMENT DATE: October 19, 2007
COMMENTS: Here is a nice mid-term position that 'worked' the first time. The stock was trading at over $9 a share on expiration Friday and the position is back-to-cash with exactly the profit anticipated last May when the position was established.

Remember, there are only two kinds of positions as far as the writer is concerned. Positions that are CLOSED, like this one, and OPEN or ACTIVE positions, which are simply not finished yet. Some, like this one, will be called via the Initial Call Option. Others will need additional 'work' before going back-to-cash.
As mentioned above, due to the extended duration . . . this holding provided a return that was above the expectations of SysCW.
